The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has included chapters on electoral literacy in school textbooks to familiarize students with their roles and responsibilities as future voters. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Ministry of Education to include relevant study material. The curriculum, starting from 2024-25, will educate students about the election process and the importance of voting.
